Paul Klee, Vor den Toren von Kairuan (Before the Gates of Kairouan), 1914.
‘Was it really only the Tunisian landscape and architecture, the southern light and the colours that at least helped Klee find his way to painting? …
‘One of the last pictures Klee painted on this trip, Vor den Toren von Kairuan, was painted on 16 April 1914, the very day he came to the conclusion in his diary that he was now, at last, a painter.’

So first I was like huh I wouldn’t mind dying in this house.
But on second thoughts, scratch that, I don’t care where I die, so long as I have my loved ones by my side.
But still. In the mountains? Yes, definitely. The house doesn’t have to be this big, but I’d love to live somewhere there.
